  • Logan Rocks Jewelry Workshop offers community members a hands-on introduction to silversmithing + jewelry making through interactive sessions that teach essential techniques at the local studio.  The Herald Journal

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Utah State University Extension released a study showing that 226 employers see gaps in soft skills such as time management + conflict resolution, and they say work-based projects + internships + mentoring help students be ready for Utah’s growing economy.  KVNU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Utah State University announced Monday its new Promise Scholarship Endowment to support last-dollar scholarships. The university seeks donors to help cover remaining tuition costs for qualifying students.  The Herald Journal
  • State leaders and college presidents signed a resolution (announced recently) to keep higher education affordable following recent reforms, even as additional cuts may be considered in future budget discussions.  The Herald Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cache Valley’s annual Chocolate Festival will be held on Feb. 7 at the Riverwoods Conference Center starting at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature dessert tastings, live music, and auctions to raise funds for inclusive health care from Planned Parenthood Association of Utah.  KVNU

SPORTS NEWS

  • In 2025, Utah anglers set five new state fishing records at reservoirs such as Gunnison Bend, Huntington North, Otter Creek, Sand Hollow and Fish Lake. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources tracks these catch-and-release, catch-and-keep and spearfishing records to honor local angling achievements + boost interest in the sport.  KVNU
