  • Utah State University has launched a center designed to boost rural economic growth by uniting workforce training, digital access, and tech innovation, and USU Extension Professor Paul Hill will lead the initiative & combine ongoing projects for a unified strategic approach.  Cache Valley Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • USU ecologists commented on the lethal removal of three wolves west of Avon that was confirmed by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and the Department of Agriculture and Food three days ago. Their review addresses local wildlife management practices.  The Herald Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A legislative audit says the university must change its financial oversight after finding missteps like a contract spanning many years without proper bidding and a costly hire with ties to leadership. The report was given to the legislature and calls for strict reforms (26 recommendations) starting immediately.  Cache Valley Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • Utah State University (USU) launches a three-year training program to build a statewide network of Dementia Resource Ambassadors that will help families affected by dementia connect with essential support. The program will train ambassadors to expand resource access across the state.  The Herald Journal
