EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Cache County School District will use a $15.2M grant to build a new Cache CAPS campus adjacent to Bridgerland Technical College’s West Innovation Campus in north Logan — the expansion will begin in the 2026-27 school year and serve 900 students with hands-on career training.  Cache Valley Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Seven Western states missed a deadline on Saturday, Feb. 14 to agree on a Colorado River water sharing plan (affecting Utah water supplies) as officials urged Upper Basin states to offer more concessions amid record drought conditions.  Cache Valley Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • Bear River Health Department notified the public on Friday of an anthrax detection in a deceased cow from Idaho confirmed by Utah State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory + officials say the risk remains extremely low.  The Herald Journal

  • Experts Eric Frandsen and Jason Walker preview Utah State’s matchup with Memphis on Saturday while outlining key strategies for the Aggies, with Jerrod Calhoun set to share insights at the home venue (noting Memphis’ dynamic play).  Cache Valley Daily
  • Jason Walker and Eric Frandsen discussed the 2026 Pac-12 and Utah State football schedule (including an eight-game plan with a Week 13 flex option) during a Cache Valley sports panel.
