EDUCATION NEWS

  • Department of War and Scouting America agreed in Logan to update youth programs by ending DEI practices and adding a Military Service merit badge. The agreement waives registration fees for military families and will be reviewed in six months & aims to align the program with Executive Order 14173.  Cache Valley Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A USDA rule change on Feb. 10 cut the loan cap for Cache County’s self-help housing program from $595,000 to $324,700 + leaving over 200 families without enough funds. A local resident urged young families to contact congressional representatives to seek a revision of the rules.  Cache Valley Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cache County School District officials notified Mountain Crest High School of a potential measles exposure (Feb. 24-25) following one confirmed case. The incident was reported late Monday night.  The Herald Journal
  • Cache County School District issued a health alert to Mountain Crest High School’s community in Hyrum after possible measles exposure on Feb. 24 and 25. School officials contacted families without MMR records and worked with health authorities—advising exposed individuals to monitor for symptoms until Mar. 18.  Cache Valley Daily

SPORTS NEWS

  • Jason Walker and Eric Frandsen reviewed Saturday's Mountain West games and discussed key upcoming matchups in the title race. They examined bracketology for Utah State, New Mexico and San Diego State, with Utah Jazz updates + former Aggies Sam Merrill and Neemias Queta in the NBA.  Cache Valley Daily
