COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On a cold Saturday in late February, nearly 30 local clubs gathered at Bruner Hall at Logan Presbyterian Church as Join Up Cache Valley worked to connect neighbors and reduce isolation.  The Herald Journal
  • Garland, located 25 miles west of Logan, once boasted a thriving sugar beet refinery until it closed in 1978 and now presents a mix of ghost town elements and enduring landmarks such as Sofa’s Corner bar and a Carnegie library still in use.  Cache Valley Daily

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous will run from Monday, Mar. 9 through Saturday, Mar. 14 at the Cache County Event Center where community members join to celebrate 16 years of Western tradition + hometown roots.  The Herald Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local resident Katy Oldham wrote an open letter to Rep. Blake Moore and Senators Mike Lee and John Curtis on Feb. 24, urging them to change federal rules that lowered a housing loan cap from $595,000 to $324,700 and left over 200 Cache Valley families unable to build affordable homes.  KVNU

SPORTS NEWS

  • Utah State lost 92 to 65 to UNLV in their worst loss this season & were swept by the Rebels. Analysts will review the game to see if the team can rebound for the season finale and a potential rematch in the Mountain West Tournament.  Cache Valley Daily
