COMMUNITY NEWS

  • City officials announced that Logan residents will have a bulk green waste pick-up from five designated park locations in mid-April, from April 14 to April 25. Green waste bins will be placed at Lundstrom Park parking stalls on 1350 North, Hyrum Gibbbons Mount Logan Park parking lot, Merlin Olsen Park east parking stalls, Bridger Park, and Willow Park Quad—residents must use these bins as curbside waste will not be collected.  KVNU

CRIME NEWS

  • Logan police arrested 71-year-old Michael Henry Evans on Thursday morning after a domestic dispute where he allegedly held a woman at gunpoint, threatened to shoot her, fired a round into the floor, and kept her from leaving until she escaped — he is held without bail pending arraignment.  KVNU
  • A 71-year-old Logan man, Michael Henry Evans, was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly threatening to shoot a woman during a domestic dispute after she called 911 on Wednesday night when he held her captive, grabbed her hair, and fired a round into the floor — police say he is held in Cache County Jail on multiple charges.  Cache Valley Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Utah’s water outlook is mixed as northern reservoirs, including the Logan River at 91% of normal, remain strong while southern snowpack and runoff stay low after storms raised the snow water equivalent to 82% of normal but melt has peaked. Officials urge residents and farmers to conserve water this summer—95% of the state’s supply comes from snowpack and conservation programs are in place.  KVNU
