  • Logan — Three high school students from InTech Collegiate Academy, Henry Trinh, Skyler Da Silva, and Kaleb Chandler, competed nationally in the Samsung STEM innovation contest after winning the state-level contest with a plan to paint road lines using eco-friendly polyurethane paint with glass beads — they did not advance further but will share their results with Logan City.  Cache Valley Daily
  • Utah State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine is taking steps to become the state’s first four-year veterinary school after an announcement on Thursday—detailing plans to expand its program.   • A new study shows that Utah is the best state for keeping kids safe online because of strong safety laws and mental health support. Gov. Spencer Cox and lawmakers passed new rules that include age checks on social media and a ban on smartphones in school classrooms.  KVNU
  • Governor Spencer Cox signed a law on Thursday that bans fluoride in public drinking water amid opposition from dentists and national health organizations — the ban will take effect on May 7 and stops cities from deciding on fluoridation.  Cache Valley Daily
