  • The American West Heritage Center in Wellsville will host Baby Animal Days from April 2 through April 5 (10 a.m.–6 p.m.) and again from April 10 through April 12 (10 a.m.–6 p.m.) with baby farm animals, bear cubs and exotic pets to view while the Cache Valley Mountain Man Rendezvous offers pioneer demonstrations.  Cache Valley Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • High school students Henry Trinh, Skyler Da Silva, and Kaleb Chandler from InTech Collegiate Academy competed in the national Samsung STEM innovation contest after winning the state-level contest with a project using polyurethane paint and glass beads to improve road line reflection— they did not advance to the final voting stage and plan to share their findings with Logan City.  KVNU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Nibley City will light multiple small, prescribed fires at Firefly Park at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 31 in coordination with the Cache Valley Wildlife Association—city officials say the burns aim to manage vegetation and reduce wildfire risk.  The Herald Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. states are racing to build smaller, cheaper nuclear reactors that may start working as early as 2030—each state is offering incentives to attract the new technology. In Utah, Gov. Spencer Cox launched Operation Gigawatt and plans to spend $20 million to prepare sites for cleaner power delivery.  Cache Valley Daily
