  • Litia Garr, a finalist on The Bachelor Season 29, held firm to her religious values by refusing to spend the night with the show's lead, a stance respected by him and praised by her family in Cache Valley.   • Utah State University is celebrating the Week of the Young Child today through Friday with campus-wide themed activities and a 10 a.m. children's parade on the Logan campus—organized by USU’s early childhood programs.  Cache Valley Daily
  • As temperatures warm, the Utah State University Extension Gardeners Almanac offers Logan gardeners practical tips to start planting cool-season vegetables and trees and to prepare their lawns and gardens for late frosts. The guide advises checking when garden soil is workable, using organic mulches for moisture retention, and applying timely pest controls (such as treating apple powdery mildew).  Cache Valley Daily
  • Utah State University in Logan announced its next steps for a budget reallocation plan that will include layoffs and program changes, and Interim President Al Smith said more details will be shared via email and on the planning website by early May.   • The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources advises residents that if they find baby birds on the ground they should place featherless hatchlings back in their nest or on a safe branch while leaving fledglings alone unless they are in danger. The guidelines warn against feeding wild birds and disturbing nests with eggs or young birds as such actions are unlawful.  KVNU
