  • Deserae 'Des' Turner, a local hero who survived a gunshot to her head in 2017, died on the evening of April 17 after developing a deadly lung infection, her family said. She fought for over 8 years with intensive treatments and multiple surgeries and reached milestones like graduating from high school before succumbing to her illness—funeral details will be announced soon.  Cache Valley Daily

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An elderly man with dementia was rescued by police after his foot got stuck in a window and he dangled from the second story of his home on April 18th – officials said he is now safe.  KVNU

CRIME NEWS

  • A 33-year-old Logan man, Michael Ernesto Pacheco, admitted elbowing another person in the face on March 7 in front of several children, causing a bone fracture that required surgery; he accepted a plea deal on charges including robbery and domestic violence and now awaits sentencing on May 19.  Cache Valley Daily
  • A 19-year-old Hyde Park man, Bryson Tyler Alleman, was arrested by Logan City Police for allegedly raping a girl at his home last fall—he was booked Wednesday in Cache County Jail and faces charges including rape, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and assault.  Cache Valley Daily
