  • Over 300 pairs of children’s shoes — each symbolizing a case of child abuse — will be placed on the steps of the Historic Cache County Courthouse at 199 N. Main in Logan on Monday April 28 at 12 noon to raise awareness during Family Strengthening Month. The event will also feature local speaker Sarah Huff and precede a Blue Ribbon Auction at Riverwoods Conference Center on May 3 to help raise funds for The Family Place.  Cache Valley Daily

  • After months of uncertainty over its downtown Logan space—Jump the Moon Art Studio and Gallery signed a 10-year agreement that secures its home and lays the foundation for future art exhibits.  The Herald Journal
  • Lyric Repertory Company has announced its summer production of the bluegrass musical Bright Star — a southern Gothic tale that tells the true story of the Iron Mountain Baby. The show will perform at Morgan Theatre on the USU campus from June 13 through July 26 under director Eric Van Tielen and a cast led by Equity actress Kelsey Crotz.  KVNU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials in Logan will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17 at Logan City Hall to discuss proposed transfers of more than $6.75 million from enterprise funds to the general fund and related administrative fees. They will also explain plans for a building swap that shows a $10 million difference in fair market value, *aiming to avoid significant tax hikes or service cuts*.  KVNU
  • Today, the intersection at 200 N 100 W and eastbound 200 North from Main Street to 600 W are closed for an ongoing sewer main replacement—official reopening times are expected to be announced soon.  The Herald Journal
