  • Logan's Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held Saturday, May 3 from 12 noon until 8 p.m. at the Cache County Fairgrounds and will feature live music, dance acts, and contests. CRIME NEWS

  • A 32-year-old North Logan man, Cody James Anderson, remains detained on 59 domestic violence charges—he allegedly threatened a woman with a loaded pistol and caused serious injuries—and appeared in court on April 29.  Cache Valley Daily

ECONOMY NEWS

  • At a Tuesday economic summit in Logan, officials said Cache County’s growth slowed due to rising home prices and a high ratio between income and housing costs, even as strong sectors like education and agriculture anchored the economy. County leaders stressed that future job expansion in technology, healthcare and construction will be key—residents are urged to join discussions through a dedicated housing crisis task force.  KVNU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Researchers at USU have found that worn and slick fault rocks may allow earthquake slip along a portion of the Wasatch Front. Their study links these conditions to quake risk along a 240-mile stretch from southern Idaho to central Utah+ further work is planned to improve hazard prediction.  Cache Valley Daily
