CRIME NEWS

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Utah State University held its 138th graduation ceremony on April 30 where graduates officially received their degrees and speaker Willy Lensch urged them to help others—college convocations and hooding ceremonies began May 1 and finish today with awards for 4,651 bachelor's, 1,287 master's and 162 doctorate degrees.   KVNU

FINANCE NEWS

  • A new study by the Utah State University Utah Women & Leadership Project found that Utah women are joining the workforce more, facing tougher challenges with student debt and financial literacy, and planning families later than before. The report shows that these shifts lead to long-term financial gaps—calling for more education on finances and pay equity.  Cache Valley Daily
  • USU UWLP released a report showing that Utah women are having children later, are more likely to be single, and are working more, which changes their money needs. The report points out a gap in money skills, higher student debt, and retirement risks — and it urges earlier money talks to help close these gaps.  KVNU
