  • North Logan Library has cut ebook and audiobook wait times to days thanks to a generous donation — the service now supports nearly half of all checkouts on the Libby app and aims to lower holds to 21 days, with a future goal of 10 days. Library Director Trenton Bateman says the move benefits borrowers in North Logan and statewide.  KVNU
  • North Logan Library reduced wait times for ebooks and audiobooks to days thanks to a generous private donation, library director Trenton Bateman said. The boost now makes up 42% of digital checkouts (via the Libby app) and aims to shorten most waits to no more than 21 days at no extra cost to local residents.  Cache Valley Daily

  • Smithfield native Taylor Gabaldon transferred to Cache High during her sophomore year after saying her old school was her enemy—now nearing the end of her senior year, she credits the school’s strong support system with helping her thrive.  The Herald Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials in Logan have scheduled a budget workshop on Tuesday, May 13th at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to start discussion of the FY 2025-2026 budget—topics include fraud risk assessment, employee contributions to the retirement system, a proposed salary schedule, budget transfers and a tentative certified property tax rate increase.  Cache Valley Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cache Valley Hospital in North Logan celebrated 25 years of service while its emergency services team was honored as a 2024 HCA Healthcare Unit of Distinction—ranking in the top five percent of 2,400 nursing units nationwide. Lee Christensen, the hospital’s Director of Clinical Operations, said the award reflected the team’s strong support for each other and commitment to excellent care during life’s critical moments.  Cache Valley Daily
  • Altabank is teaming up with the American Red Cross to host blood drives in North Logan and other locations on May 5th—donors can schedule appointments to receive a $20 e-gift card and enter a sweepstakes for a U.S. trip. The drives run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at each branch.  KVNU
  • Cache Valley Hospital in North Logan celebrated its 25th year of service and its Emergency Services team was named a 2024 HCA Healthcare Unit of Distinction—placing them among the top 5% of 2,400 sites.
