ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday, crashes on US-89/91 and Main Street slowed Logan traffic when an 11:30 a.m. crash near 2200 South left a driver pinned and a passenger injured who were taken to hospital and a 5:30 p.m. four-vehicle crash at 600 North Main Street reported no major injuries—police cited the first driver for failing to yield.  Cache Valley Daily

CRIME NEWS

  • Former Logan Municipal Council candidate Erin Elisabeth Bennett pleaded guilty to three felony drug charges including possession with intent to distribute and to misdemeanor charges after police found a large container of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her home on February 3rd — she is now held in Cache County Jail without bail and faces sentencing on June 9 with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.  Cache Valley Daily
  • A former Logan Municipal Council candidate, Erin Elisabeth Bennett, pleaded guilty at Logan’s 1st District Court on April 28 to drug distribution charges after police found large amounts of marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, and packaging equipment in her home, and she is held in Cache County Jail without bail *with 11 charges dismissed* and scheduled for sentencing on June 9 facing up to 15 years in prison.  KVNU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Friday, May 2, 81 sixth graders from Lincoln Elementary in Hyrum released 150 trout fingerlings into Wellsville Reservoir—part of the Trout in the Classroom program—and fished to see their work in action. Terry Adams of Logan said volunteers are needed to help manage the aquariums that teach students about aquatic life.  Cache Valley Daily
