  • Logan’s Riverwoods Conference Center will host the fourth annual Northern Utah Conference to End Violence on June 4, where keynotes from Mark Wynn and Danielle Leukam will address collaborative leadership. Organized by the Utah State University Office of the President and Citizens Against Physical and sexual violence — registration ended on May 19 and the event runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Cache Valley Daily

CRIME NEWS

  • Trista Poulsen, a 47-year-old Brigham City woman, admitted to illegally using a financial card to charge extra hotel stays totaling $3,569.56 from an assistance organization and pleaded guilty in Logan’s District Court on May 12—she was sentenced to 24 months probation and must repay the full amount.  Cache Valley Daily

CULTURE NEWS

  • Pickleville Playhouse will debut Trouble in Hunky Dory on May 23, a new musical melodrama by Derek Davis that stars local veterans + newcomers as the play shows an old West town where order turns to chaos. The show runs until Sept 6 at the rustic playhouse on South Bear Lake Blvd.  KVNU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The fourth annual Northern Utah Conference to End Violence will be held June 4 at Riverwoods Conference Center in Logan from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and registration ended May 19 — USU’s Office of the President and CAPSA organized the event with the theme A Call for Collaborative Leadership featuring keynote speakers Mark Wynn and Danielle Leukam.  Cache Valley Daily
  • Cache County officials announced 1800 West at Hyrum Dam will close on June 2 and remain closed until February for spillway repairs—residents with questions should call Cache County Public Works at 435-755-1560.  KVNU
  • Cache County announced that 1800 W over Hyrum Dam will close to all traffic starting Monday, June 2 — the road is expected to stay closed for four years.  The Herald Journal
