  • Two high school musicians from Cache Valley—Drew Paiser of Ridgeline High School and Aaron Yoder of Mountain Crest High School—performed with the Utah Symphony on May 20 at Abravanel Hall. They were chosen from 113 statewide applicants to join the Side by Side Concert and prepared with four full rehearsals under the direction of Assistant Conductor Jessica Rivero Altarriba.  Cache Valley Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Utah Board of Higher Education launched a national search for the next USU president and formed a nine-member committee co-chaired by Steve Neeleman and USU Trustee David Huntsman to find a leader who will strengthen student-focused learning and research. The search comes as the university faces challenges from a previous presidency marked by financial and administrative controversies — the committee will soon release a position description and begin accepting nominations.  KVNU
