  • Kaci Wilson’s son died from brain injuries in a car accident and his donated organs saved the lives of several children — including 7-year-old Saleh Ahmad.  KVNU

CRIME NEWS

  • Logan police arrested two Ukrainian nationals accused of scamming over $300,000 from a 78-year-old man during a sting operation — Liubomyr Prokopchuck, 27, and Damir Ovchinnikov, 18, were booked into Cache County Jail on charges of money laundering, communications fraud and criminal conspiracy.  KVNU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Utah State University Extension in Logan advises outdoor enthusiasts to prepare for encounters with dangerous wildlife — including moose, black bears, cougars, coyotes and rattlesnakes— and offers safety tips for hiking, camping and backyard areas.  Cache Valley Daily
  • Utah State University partnered with Castle Gate Engineering to add nearly 500 kilowatts of solar panels on the Stan Laub Indoor Practice Facility roof, more than 150 kilowatts on the Gateway Parking Structure, and over 200 kilowatts at the Sam Skaggs Family Equine Center and Caine Dairy in Wellsville. The new solar capacity totals 1,058 kilowatts and will produce over 1.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year — enough to power about 150 homes.  KVNU
