- ➤ Investigators in Jefferson County have narrowed the timeline for missing teens 13-year-old Allen Larand Fischer and 15-year-old Rachelle Leray Fischer who left their home in Monteview, Idaho on Sunday June 22nd between 6 and 8 p.m.—they may be headed toward Cache Valley or returning to Trenton due to religious beliefs as search efforts continue and a vehicle with a Utah license plate was ruled out. - ➤ USU Interim President Alan L. Smith gave a campus update Monday on plans to meet mandated budget cuts by cutting academic programs and merging colleges — a move following a $60.5 million state funding cut. Smith said the new merger and a $5 million gift for the agriculture college will start on July 1 — changes aimed at reassigning funds. Cache Valley Daily

Mike Lee revised his plan to sell federal lands after facing sharp criticism by removing U.S. Forest Service lands and limiting Bureau of Land Management property sales to areas within 5 miles of towns, promising to protect farmers, ranchers and recreationists. The Senate parliamentarian ruled his mandatory disposal provision did not meet reconciliation rules, and critics say the changes may not ease environmental concerns. KVNU
- ➤ Workers at Hyrum Dam began building a new spillway Tuesday as they lowered the west hill by 35 feet and filled it with rocks—this nearly $116 million project is funded 85 percent by taxpayers and 15 percent by the South Cache Water Users Association—and is set to take 3 to 4 years to complete the replacement of a 90-year-old spillway.
