EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Utah State University expanded its BSN nursing program on the Logan campus by opening a modern new facility in June 2024 that doubled the capacity to 120 students—30 each semester. The program holds a 95% pass rate on the NCLEX and its graduates now serve in health facilities across the state and beyond. KVNU

- ➤ State officials announced that Utah will receive up to $8.8 million from a $720 million nationwide opioid settlement with drug manufacturers to help fund local efforts to combat the opioid crisis. - ➤ Two mosquito traps in Cache County—one in Trenton and one in Amalga—tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to a Cache Mosquito Abatement press release. The Herald Journal
- ➤ Mosquito samples collected in Cache County tested positive for West Nile virus, officials said Friday. The Cache Mosquito Abatement District will continue surveillance and use larviciding and nighttime fogging in the Amalga and Trenton areas while urging residents to use EPA-registered insect repellent and remove standing water around homes.
