CULTURE NEWS

  • The Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre will join with the Lyric Repertory Company to present Late Night Cabaret shows on July 17 and 24 at Café Sabor, where audiences can enjoy Broadway tunes and a relaxed setup. Both events start at 10:30 p.m.—seating is limited and food plus drinks will be available for purchase.  KVNU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Logan’s Tony Grove Recreation Area and Mount Naomi Wilderness (located 19 miles from Logan on US Highway 89) will be inducted into the Old-Growth Forest Network on Sunday, July 27 at 12:00 p.m. The ceremony will honor the areas for their beauty and biodiversity and include a 30-minute forest bathing activity led by trained guides.  KVNU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Eight Cache Valley communities will hold municipal primary elections on Tuesday, Aug. 12, with mail ballots sent starting July 22 and voter registration closing on Aug. 1. In Logan, five candidates are running for mayor and nine for two city council seats while early in-person voting will take place from Aug. 5 to Aug. 9 at the Cache County Administration Building.  Cache Valley Daily
  • Kristi Fatuesi filed her candidacy for Logan Municipal Council after answering questions in a Herald Journal candidate Q&A for the upcoming 2025 Municipal General Election. The Herald Journal will soon share more details to help Logan residents learn about the candidates.  The Herald Journal
