Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 28th of July.
Good morning, Logan.
The Ricks Springs Fire in Logan Canyon is 100% contained at 26 acres and is no longer a threat—fire officials said that local crews took command on Saturday morning to patrol the area while repair work continues and the investigation into its suspected human cause goes on.
State officials announced today that the intersection of 1900 West and SR-30 in Logan will be closed for up to two weeks while reconstruction work continues—drivers needing access to 1900 West must detour via 1000 West to either 200 South or 600 South.
Due to the Ricks Springs Fire delaying work last week, UDOT rescheduled a highway project near Beaver Creek Lodge and will fully close Logan Canyon today from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.+ crews will repair the road surface, replace damaged signs and guardrail, and update drainage culverts.
