COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ City officials announced a revised schedule for the Logan Aquatic Center for the rest of the 2025 season as lifeguards and staff return to school. Starting Aug. 18 the pool will close Monday through Friday while remaining open on weekends—Labor Day will be the final swim day. KVNU

- ➤ Cache County executive David Zook announced Friday that he will retire from public service on Sept. 8. The Herald Journal
- ➤ City officials in Logan have switched the Emergency Alert Program to the Everbridge platform to send rapid alerts during emergencies like severe weather and road closures. Residents can sign up for alerts (by phone, text, or email) and the change will also affect county areas. Cache Valley Daily
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Bear River Health Department confirmed the first human cases of West Nile virus in Cache County last Friday morning, with two residents testing positive. The department urges everyone to take precautions against mosquito bites by following safety steps (drain standing water, avoid dawn and dusk, use repellent, wear protective clothing, and secure screens).
