EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Concerned Cache County residents are organizing to oppose a proposed 27.8% school tax increase that would raise annual taxes by about $130 for a typical $450,000 home—residents are urged to attend a hearing on Aug. 28 at the Cache School District headquarters in North Logan to ask how the extra $6,242,500 will be spent. - ➤ Cache County mosquito samples tested positive for West Nile virus in towns including Amalga, Trenton, Lewiston, Richmond, Wellsville, Newton, Benson, Hyrum and Mendon—Bear River Health Department confirmed two human cases on Friday and advised residents to use insect repellent, clear standing water, and repair screens.
