- ➤ Somebody's Attic Thrift Boutique will celebrate 40 years in Cache Valley on Monday, Aug. 25 with 40 percent discounts, gift card drawings, and donation check events at its Logan and Smithfield stores. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On August 22, a 32-year-old Tremonton man appeared in court via web conference from jail on charges of aggravated murder for allegedly fatally shooting two police officers and wounding a deputy and a K9— the judge noted that the death penalty is being sought for some counts. KVNU
- ➤ Officials said that public viewings for Sgt. Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada, who were killed while responding to a domestic disturbance, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Bear River High School in Garland—funerals are set for Officer Estrada on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. and for Sgt. Sorensen on Friday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on the Utah State University campus in Logan and officials expect traffic and request business attire. Cache Valley Daily
