  • The Utah Department of Wildlife Resources outlined fall upland game and migratory game bird hunts, noting many seasons start Sept. 1 and continue through later months—hunters must have valid licenses and may need free permits for some species. CRIME NEWS

  • Logan police arrested a 42-year-old man Tuesday for sending about 1,500 threatening messages to Child and Family Services and for threatening law enforcement officers—he did not comply during arrest and used force against officers.  Cache Valley Daily
  • A 42-year-old Logan man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly sending about 1,500 threatening messages to DCFS and law enforcement—he resisted arrest and is now held without bail amid charges of electronic communication harassment and assault.  KVNU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food will host a free waste pesticide collection event at the Logan Department of Transportation Shed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.—residents can safely dispose of unwanted pesticides this morning.  The Herald Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday morning, about 1,300 cyclists will leave Logan for a ride north to Jackson Hole for the 43rd annual LoToJa Classic — a race that highlights the community’s cycling tradition.  The Herald Journal
  • The Utah Department of Wildlife Resources released a guide with important details for fall upland game and migratory game bird hunts; many hunts began Sept. 1 and the guide explains permit needs and season dates for birds, rabbits and hares—helping both new and experienced hunters plan their seasons.
