  • Local veteran Daryol Forinash said his flight from Provo to Washington, D.C. on Utah Honor Flight 52 was more than a nice ride— it was a chance to honor his service. He added that the trip allowed veterans to connect and share memories—bringing them closer as a community.  The Herald Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Cache Valley is preparing for the fifth annual Festival Latino on Saturday as the event grows larger despite community concerns stemming from a nationwide immigration crackdown—locals remain alert amid these tensions. The celebration aims to bring together diverse cultural experiences in the area.  The Herald Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At a recent meeting, the Logan School Board celebrated higher school attendance—announcing it will hold a public hearing on a compensation increase—and said the board will ask for feedback from staff and families. The board said the boost in attendance shows its plans to keep students in school are working.  The Herald Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lawmakers filed a commercial diesel truck emissions testing bill for a special session to require stricter testing and address concerns over new technology—digital dopamine. The measure, filed on September 8, could lead to increased oversight of diesel emissions in the upcoming session.  Cache Valley Daily
  • Today at 5:30 p.m., the Cache County executive special election is held at Ridgeline High School—only designated county members can vote, not the general public.  The Herald Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Utah State University—partnered with the Bear River Health Department Monday—formed the Healthy Aggies Coalition to support Aggies facing health challenges.  The Herald Journal
