- ➤ Utah State University Extension and the Wheatley Institute at BYU have joined forces to create a free online toolkit called Disagree Better to help families learn respectful ways to disagree and share their views. The toolkit offers three short lessons that teach parents and children how to pause—ask sincere questions and look for common ground to manage disagreements at home and elsewhere. Cache Valley Daily

- ➤ Cache County Clerk Bryson Behm received his VOTE Certification—awarded by the Olene Walker Institute at Weber State—during the Utah Association of Counties meeting in Layton from Sept. 8th to 10th; his award confirms he completed the 10-course election training now required by state law. His certification recognizes Behm's commitment to running free, fair and secure elections. Cache Valley Daily
- ➤ At an administrative meeting on Sept. 15 in Logan, city officials upheld a decision to waive public hearing requirements for a proposed treatment facility at 1257 Eastridge Drive in the Cliffside area — residents were not allowed to voice their concerns. Local attorney Brett Chambers said he will appeal the decision with the state Office of the Property Rights Ombudsman as neighbors remain upset about the process. Cache Valley Daily
