- ➤ At a Sept. 23 meeting, Cache County Council members rejected a proposed pay raise for themselves amid a $4.9 million budget shortfall and looming property tax increase — some argued it undermined their role as public servants. They tabled the council pay debate until Oct. 14, raised pay for other county officials, and set a Truth-in-Taxation hearing for a possible tax hike on Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. KVNU
- ➤ The Cache County Form of Government Study Committee held its first public outreach meeting in Hyrum Thursday+teaching about 15 local residents the four possible forms of government. The Herald Journal
