- ➤ The Utah Women & Leadership Project at Utah State University has launched an online study to learn Utahns’ views on the challenges facing girls and women as part of the A Bolder Way Forward initiative—participants aged 18 and older can complete the anonymous survey in 10—20 minutes to help shape future support for women and girls in the state. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Utah was named one of the nation’s most energy-efficient states when WalletHub’s report ranked it 7th overall, 5th for home energy use, 9th for vehicle-fuel efficiency, and 23rd for transportation efficiency—local efforts in Cache Valley and statewide programs helped boost its ranking. - ➤ On October 21, Logan Municipal Council approved a 25-year power purchase deal with UAMPS to buy power from the proposed Fremont Solar Plant project in Iron County—projected to be a 99-megawatt solar array with 49.5 megawatts of battery storage coming online in December and supplying 10 megawatts of solar power with 5 megawatts of battery backup to the city—at a fixed rate of $35.45 per megawatt hour.
