EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cache County School District announced new middle schools—Juniper Ridge in Hyde Park for the Foxes with blue, gray and white and Maple View in Nibley for the Hawks with blue and gray—and opened early enrollment for its 2026 to 27 School Choice Program. Families can apply online until Dec. 12 while a new elementary school is under construction in Hyde Park.  Cache Valley Daily
  • The Cache County School District in North Logan announced the names, mascots, and colors for its new middle schools — Juniper Ridge Middle School with the Foxes in blue, gray, and white and Maple View Middle School with the Hawks in blue and gray — and is constructing a new elementary school. Early enrollment for the 2026–27 Open Enrollment and School Choice Program opened on Oct. 18 and will run until Dec. 12.  Cache Valley Daily
  • The Hardware Wildlife Education Center in Cache County will host a Turkey Tails exhibit on three weekends in November: Nov. 7-9, Nov. 14-16 and Nov. 21-23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free family-friendly exhibit & educational displays will teach visitors about Utah’s wild turkeys and include crafts, story times and an educational walk along the display path.  KVNU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Hardware Wildlife Education Center in Blacksmith Fork Canyon will host the free Turkey Tales exhibit on three November weekends — Nov. 7-9, 14-16, and 21-23 — to teach visitors about wild turkeys and their habits. The family-friendly event offers craft projects and story times while visitors may also see wild turkeys along the scenic fall drive.  Cache Valley Daily

  • Utah lawmakers plan to lower gas prices next year after House Speaker Mike Schultz saw high prices during a stop in Evanston, Wyoming last summer on his way to the Rich County rodeo—officials say the move may ease fuel costs—and further plans will be discussed.  The Herald Journal
