  • Light the World Giving Machines will return to Cache Valley this Christmas to allow visitors to use reverse vending machines—available from Dec. 16-31—to purchase items benefiting five local non-profit charities.  The Herald Journal

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Pizza Plus announced plans to open a new store — at 505 E 1400 N in Logan — in the space formerly occupied by J Dawgs.  The Herald Journal
  • Drive-through pop shops are popular in Cache Valley as House of Pop in Preston—started in 2015 by the Madsens—has expanded to three locations and inspired similar family-run soda stands throughout the area.  Cache Valley Daily
  • House of Pop in Preston began in 2015 when the Madsens converted an oversized shed into a drive-through soda shop—now owned by Andrea and Jed Palmer—that serves 40 flavored sodas, cookies, and hot beverages. It draws long lines and is one of several pop shops growing across Cache Valley and Utah.  KVNU

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • On Oct. 23, the Logan Planning Commission approved The Foundry—a six‐unit townhome project meant for affordable ownership—as part of a broader debate on housing costs and neighborhood design. The commission sent a draft amendment to City Council while local officials stressed that updated infill rules are needed to help moderate‐income families secure homes.  Cache Valley Daily
