- ➤ Logan’s Toys for Tots held a toy drive at Zootah on November 8 and will host drives at Five Below on November 22 and on Black Friday to collect toys for kids in Cache Valley and nearby areas. The group, which has pledged aid for 252 families, needs donations in original packaging and seeks long-term sponsors — its goal is to give each child two toys, two stocking stuffers, a book, and a stuffed animal. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ At the Utah Red Rocks State Marching Band Championships on Nov. 7 at Utah Tech, Cache Valley’s Green Canyon won first place in the 5A Open division with a score of 88.100 and swept the caption awards—marking their best performance among 44 bands. Green Canyon, along with Ridgeline and Sky View, will march again Saturday in the Bands of America Utah Regional Championships against bands from states like California and Colorado. KVNU
- ➤ The Ellen Eccles Theatre in downtown Logan will host a month-long series of Christmas shows starting Nov. 15 when the Grand Kyiv Ballet performs The Snow Queen at 7:30 p.m. The schedule will also include Pickleville on Tour on Nov. 22, a performance of The Nutcracker from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1, and shows by GENTRI, tenor Nathan Pacheco, A Kurt Bestor Christmas, The Petersens, the Jenny Oaks Baker Family Four and the Johnson Files concluding on Dec. 13.
