  • Sam Patch Grocers & Sundries opened its Wellsville store last week—at 825 E. Main—offering fresh food, groceries and a Chevron fuel station. The nearly 20,000-square-foot market on a 4.25-acre site operates from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.  KVNU
  • Sam Patch Grocers & Sundries opened a new store at 825 E. Main in Wellsville last week, just north of Maverik on Highway 89 and Main Street. The store, owned by Mike Baldwin and Jason Hurd, offers fresh food, groceries and gas and operates Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Cache Valley Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cache Education Foundation hosts its 11th annual Christmas Tree Jubilee today at Riverwoods Conference Center from 3 to 6 p.m. — the fundraiser supports classroom technology in Cache County schools with holiday trees, wreaths, a visit from Santa and a VIP dinner with a live auction.  Cache Valley Daily
  • On Friday, Nov. 21, new Utah State University President Dr. Brad Mortensen spoke about his first 12 days on campus—explaining how his path from study at Ricks led him to work as a state budget analyst and serve at Weber State before joining USU, guided by mentor Steve Bennion.  Cache Valley Daily
  • John Paul (JP) Murphy, a 40-year veteran of Utah 4-H who worked in Logan and across the state, was inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame at a national meeting in Georgia as his decades of service in youth development were recognized. Craig Dart (assistant director of Utah 4-H) accepted the award on his behalf due to Murphy’s health challenges, celebrating his lasting impact on local and national 4-H programs.  KVNU
