  • Fire crews are conducting a prescribed burn today east of Logan near Beaver Mountain Ski Resort to clear slash piles that could fuel wildfires. The operation will produce smoke that is visible along Logan Canyon and US 89 while firefighters monitor the burn and ask motorists not to call 911.  Cache Valley Daily
  • Fire crews are conducting a prescribed burn today east of Logan near Beaver Mountain Ski Resort & the smoke from burning slash piles may be seen by motorists along Logan Canyon on US-89. Crews will monitor the fire until it burns out over the next several days.  KVNU

  • Logan City Mayor Holly Daines and five other Utah women received the Martha Hughes Cannon Awards Monday afternoon at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City — the awards recognize their leadership and community service.  The Herald Journal
  • Smithfield Canyon Road remains closed to through traffic from 50 N in Smithfield for 6-8 weeks—after Monday morning’s closure for culvert replacement, crews work to complete the upgrades.  The Herald Journal
