- ➤ Ellis Elementary students sang and decorated a tree when Zions Bank Logan Pioneer Branch hosted its 20th annual Lights On celebration on Wednesday. The event continued a tradition that brings holiday cheer to the local community. The Herald Journal

- ➤ USU UWLP and its partners released a report today showing the best practices of 2025 companies championing women by offering flexible hours, remote work, pay equity strategies, and family leave. The findings urge all Utah businesses to consider policies that help both women and families thrive & strengthen the local workforce. KVNU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ USU chemist Cheng-Wei Chang and colleagues have developed Aggie Feed, a microalgae-based supplement that lowers inflammation + reduces reliance on antibiotics. Their research offers a cost-effective way to support healthier livestock production here in Logan. Cache Valley Daily
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cache County Council heard strong public opposition to proposed cuts that would end funding for the county library at the Providence facility during the 2026 budget hearing. A local advocate volunteered to seek donors as residents from across the county urge the library's future be secured — a decision will be made Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. Cache Valley Daily
- ➤ At the Cache County Council meeting on Dec. 2, consultant Whitney Ward presented initial findings for a study on indoor recreation options near Logan. Ward outlined three plans to build new facilities, but council members questioned survey size and costs — Phase 2 will analyze operations and funding models. Cache Valley Daily
- ➤ Cache County Council got public pushback against closing the county library during the proposed 2026 budget hearing as residents from Providence, Logan and Hyde Park voiced concerns. County Executive George Daines now proposes six-month funding + a supplemental plan, with a decision set for Tuesday, Dec. 9 + revenue increases. KVNU

- ➤ Community Nursing Services lets hospice patients fulfill small wishes in Logan with its CNS Wish program.
