  • The Family Place has placed two Starfish Giving Machines (at Lee’s Marketplace and the Family Place Belva Hansen building) in Logan to support families and children in Cache Valley until mid-January. Donations made in December will be doubled to boost the center’s essential services.  Cache Valley Daily

CULTURE NEWS

  • Residents enjoying the festive spirit can view gingerbread displays at 12 downtown windows and vote for their favorite creation in the annual Gingerbread Home Contest (offering six $100 prizes) which runs until December 31.  KVNU
  • WW II veteran Arthur Grabiner (100) continues volunteering to share his Pacific war experiences as a recent interview with Danny New highlighted his ongoing effort to preserve local history.  KVNU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Logan City School District honored McCall Holmes as Special Education Teacher of the Year and Ashlee Harris as Special Education Support Professional of the Year during its recent board meeting. The awards recognize their dedication to serving special needs students.  The Herald Journal
  • Jazz Bear visited Sky View High School Wednesday afternoon to honor teacher Anna Barkle as the recipient of the Most Valuable Educator program; employees from Smith Entertainment Group + representatives from Instructure presented the award to acknowledge her positive impact on students.  The Herald Journal
